Today I decided to give the mix and match patterns trend a whirl. Sometimes I really like the way it looks, but sometimes I think it looks as though clothes were just thrown on in the dark. I think this trend works best when you stick to a simple or dichromatic color palette or stick to simple patterns like stripes and polka dots. I recently found this green and blue plaid jacket of my grandma's and knew this was the perfect opportunity to mix patterns. Because the colors in the jacket are so bold, I kept the rest of my outfit to minimalistic black and white.
